PHP Developer

Role Description

The ideal candidate is a highly resourceful and innovative developer with extensive experience in the layout, design and coding of websites specifically in PHP format. You must also possess a strong knowledge of web application development using PHP programming language and MySQL Server databases. 

Responsibilities

• Perform a mix of maintenance, enhancements, and new development as required
• Work in a data analyst role and with business intelligence applications
• Handles incidents (such as bugs or errors) whenever reported, and troubleshoots issues, identifies their root causes, and applies fixes.
• Work cross-functionally to convert business needs into technical specifications
• Implements and supports the designed solutions and writes clean, efficient bug-free PHP code
• Manages code versions using tools like Git. commits changes, merges branches, and follows established internal development process workflow.
• Reviewing code regularly, and collaborating with other developers to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and consistency across the project.
• Maintaining technical documentation that explains upcoming or existing integrations, in addition to creating mockups and sample payloads for testing the contracts if required.
• Keep system documentation updated, including APIs, and contract documentation for integration with other products, training Guides, in addition to ensuring that all changes, issues are recorded.
• Continuously work with the testing team, and conduct various application testing such as unit, integration, security, performance etc.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve application performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Expertise in front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), PHP frameworks, MySQL databases and backend development
• At least 6 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 4 years in PHP development.
• Understanding software architecture patterns, including MVC, and microservices.
• Familiar with agile methodologies and Scrum framework, with adequate experience with tracking tools like MS Azure (TFS) or Jira.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with a team
