Senior or Lead Backend Developer

Datadrivers Oy is Finland's leading software developer in the logistics and driving education sector, and we are now looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join our growing team in our Oulu or Tornio office. In this role, your main responsibilities will focus on backend development, with opportunities to work on both web and mobile projects. You will contribute to technically challenging projects aimed at improving traffic safety and the quality of vehicle training.

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 years of experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on technologies like TypeScript, JavaScript Node.js, PHP or Go.
• Experience in API development, such as RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs or gRPC, ensuring they are well-tested, secure, scalable, and maintainable.
• Experience with databases, such as SQL or No-SQL, and a good understanding of database design and optimization.
• Experience working with microservices, containerization, event-driven architectures and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS Cloud services and tools.
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools to track system performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Good documentation skills to ensure that architecture, APIs, are communicated to the team and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and web applications supporting driver education and improving road safety.
• Work closely with architects, frontend developers, UX/UI designers, and product owners to ensure smooth integration between backend services and frontend applications.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of the overall system, participating in technology selection and strategy.
