Experience - 5 to 12
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer specializing in Routing & Switching and Azure Cloud Networking to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with traditional networking (on-premises) as well as cloud networking, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructures that support both on-premises data centers and cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Routing & Switching (On-Premises)
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level LAN/WAN networks, including core and edge routing and switching.
- Manage and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
- Perform network troubleshooting and fault isolation to quickly resolve issues related to network latency, packet loss, and device failures.
- Ensure optimal performance of network components through monitoring tools and capacity planning.
- Work on network segmentation (VLANs, VRF) and secure network architecture using ACLs and firewall rules.
- Configure and maintain network routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing to ensure high availability and redundancy.
- Manage network connectivity between branch offices, data centers, and partner networks using VPNs, MPLS, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
2. Azure Cloud Networking
- Design and deploy secure, scalable, and high-performing Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), subnets, and Network Security Groups (NSG).
- Implement Azure VPN Gateway and Azure ExpressRoute for hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises networks and Azure.
- Manage Azure Load Balancer and Azure Traffic Manager for distributing traffic across resources in different regions.
- Configure and troubleshoot Azure Network Watcher, Azure Firewall, Azure Application Gateway, and WAF for enhanced security.
- Use Azure Bastion for secure management of Azure virtual machines.
- Optimize cloud network performance through Azure Monitor, Network Performance Monitor (NPM), and Log Analytics.
- Ensure proper network governance, manage IP addressing and name resolution using Azure DNS.
- Implement best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and failover mechanisms in the Azure cloud environment.
- Work with cloud-native services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure App Services from a networking perspective.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Networking Protocols: Proficiency in routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
- Switching Technologies: Deep understanding of VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, port-channeling, and QoS.
- Security: Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security policies (ACLs, NSGs, Azure Firewall).
- Cloud Networking: Expertise in Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Load Balancer, Traffic Manager, and DNS.
- Automation: Knowledge of network automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Automation for network provisioning.
- Monitoring: Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, Azure Network Watcher, and NPM.
- Hybrid Networking: Solid understanding of hybrid cloud network architecture and integration between on-premises and cloud environments.
