Head of Frontend Development & Design

Here at Predictable Hiring we are partnered with an exciting AI company who is looking for a Head of Frontend Design to bring their product to life. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of frontend engineering, combined with full stack experience. As an early hire, you’ll have significant freedom and responsibility to shape the core product and culture alongside the founders.

About:

The company is building the software that builds other software. As an early member of the team you will have a great impact on the company and working closely with the founders.

• Work in close-knit team of IOI gold medalists, CTOs and founders.
• Work on a problem that has the potential to create a historical shift in how they think about software.

Responsibilities:

• Transform product ideas into beautiful, functional interfaces without having to rely on detailed Figma files or designer handoffs, creating high-quality, end-to-end implementations directly from concepts or minimal guidance.
• Collaborate with the founding team to define, design, and ship new features.
• Take ownership of our frontend, while at the same time being able to execute on full stack tasks. (They are happy to coach you in backend tasks!)
• Contribute to the technical architecture, exploring and integrating the latest AI research and design principles.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including design, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Strong frontend development expertise, with an exceptional eye for detail and taste in design.
• Proven experience across both frontend and backend development; comfortable with full stack work.
• Familiarity with various programming languages and frameworks, specifically in a design-heavy context.
• Experience working on scalable, high-quality applications.
• A hands-on, problem-solving attitude with a commitment to high standards.
• Comfortable with iterative development processes and working within a fast-paced environment.

• Frontend: React
• Backend: (Typed) Python
• Cloud: Cloudflare, Fly.io, Google's Cloud Run, Sentry

A great tech stack is important: They are set on combining open source frameworks that AI can build with, and that human devs love to maintain.
