Job Description:


  • Refurbishment of mechanical seals in local workshop and on site in accordance with JC Drawings, JC quality standard and global SOP’s.
  • Seal Refurbishment Scope covers and not limited to:
  • Stripping and inspection of mechanical seal.
  • Assessment and cleaning of seal components.
  • Carrying out seal component repair work (Including lapping/polishing).
  • Preparing Seal Inspection report.
  • Seal assembly and testing of mechanical seal.
  • Work closely with service center team to assist on day-to-day SC operation activities and customer requirements.
  • Performs simple operations using workshop equipment (as drill press, sandblaster, lapping machine, ultrasonic tanks, and power tools).
  • Update work register/lean kit software and seal repair tracking form.
  • Maintain local material store and perform store activities with high accuracy.
  • Support in reverse engineering activities and parts scanning.
  • Maintaining proper housekeeping of workplace and carrying out required Preventive Maintenance of workshop tools and machines.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon local business needs.
  • Contribution in lean six sigma, SES and CI activities.
  • Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization.

Ensures compliance with the applicable QHSE standard and Policies, requirements, laws, and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies


Qualifications:


Education/Training: High School Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.

Experience: 3+ Years of proven experience in repairing mechanical seals or related industrial rotating equipment.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical seal assembly drawing and component drawing.
  • Fair knowledge and use of hand tools & measuring instrument as vernier caliper, micrometer.
  • Computer skills and MS Office for filling existing forms and template.
  • Knowledge and experience to work on rotating equipment/mechanical seal and seal system at customer site will be added advantage.
  • Experience with ERP System (SAP or equivalent) will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
  • Fair knowledge about lean six sigma standards and principles
