The consulting firm is renowned for delivering innovative and cutting-edge solutions, partnering with top-tier clients in the financial services industry to drive business transformation and success.

About the Role

As the Programme Director, you will play a pivotal role in building and supporting a high-performing big data platform team. Working closely with key business stakeholders and Agile development teams, you will bridge strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with the client’s overarching service strategy and objectives. This is a 6-month contract role based in Sydney, with a competitive rate.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing project plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements, encompassing internal staff, client employees, and third-party vendors.
• Overseeing project performance, including scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables.
• Facilitating communication between business stakeholders and Agile teams to ensure value delivery and strategic alignment.
• Defining requirements, creating epics, features, and user stories, and maintaining Non-functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Leading teams to balance quality, benefits, risks, budgets, time-to-market, and user experience.
• Supporting teams by addressing impediments and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Mentoring junior consultants to enhance skills and delivery quality.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring:

Experience:

• 10+ years in project management, including at least 3 years in data initiatives such as governance, modernization, migration, and analytics.
• Demonstrated expertise in project delivery frameworks like Agile, Scaled Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall.
• Proven track record in the banking industry.

Skills:

• Mastery of project planning, budgeting, scope management, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data platforms.
• Understanding of containerization, virtualization, networking, and infrastructure.
• Expertise in business-critical design, performance SLAs, high availability, fault tolerance, and redundancy.

Education & Certifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering disciplines.
• Relevant industry-recognized certifications in technology or project delivery.
