Position: Senior Java & Kotlin WEB Developers

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Hybrid: 2-3 times a week on the client´s office

Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for the Netherlands

Mandatory Languages: English C2 and Dutch (B2 minimum)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java and Kotlin Developer for Web to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge web applications that will drive our business forward. Your expertise in Java and Kotlin will be crucial as you contribute to both backend and frontend development activities, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of our web services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to create user-friendly interfaces and improve overall user experience.
• Implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs that adhere to best practices and security standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers to promote growth and maintain high coding standards.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to proactively suggest improvements in the development process.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure team alignment and productivity.
  
  
  

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Java and 8 years in Kotlin development for web applications.
• Strong understanding of web technologies, frameworks, and design patterns, including Spring and Angular.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Proficient in version control systems, preferably Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
