Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The InfoSec Cybersecurity Analyst completes assigned tasks in the FedEx InfoSec environment to meet the overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom alerts to detect security incidents and anomalies.
- Utilize Splunk's search processing language (SPL) to query, analyze, and visualize data for alerting purposes.
- Utilize advanced tooling to investigate potential cybersecurity threats.
- Develop alerts and fine-tune existing alerts to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of alert logic to align with evolving threats and attack vectors.
- Dynamic workflow/project management utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Document alerting processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
- Communicate technical issues and resolutions to Client, the team and leadership.
- Communicate effectively with FedEx cybersecurity teams in alignment with UMRFV leadership.
- Attend team meetings.
- Follow UMRFV guidelines and policies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge of computer systems.
- Experience with Java, Python, and Linux Command Line.
- Currently enrolled college student.
- Graduate student in STEM discipline preferred
- Must have worked at UMRFV for 6 months in current venture (if internal applicant)
