Infrastructure Engineering & Operations organization builds and maintains Akamai's Platform. It's one of the largest distributed platforms in the world. Our Network Software Engineering team is responsible for designing and developing networking software running on Akamai switches, routers, and servers. We also develop software for network configuration and monitoring.

Partner with the best

You will participate in full software development life cycle of our cutting-edge networking software. Starting from designing software architecture, through development, testing, deployments and finishing with monitoring production behavior and performance metrics.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for-

• Designing and developing software according to highest standards.
• Collaborating with various Akamai teams and industry partners.
• Learning about our distributed systems, products, and the technical stack as necessary for your role.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will-

• Have solid background in Python programming (with REST API and SQL)
• Possess good knowledge about L2/L3 Computer Networks
• Be familiar with Linux environment and internals
• Know other programming languages (C/C++, golang)
• Have experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Docker)
• Be proficient in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
