Data Governance & Quality Analyst

Purpose:

The Data Governance & Quality Analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across the organization. This role ensures that all data adheres to quality standards and regulatory compliance, contributing to the reliability of data-driven decisions.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

• Develop and implement data governance policies, processes, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular data quality audits and implement automated checks to identify and correct data discrepancies.
• Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and business users to define data standards and ensure consistent data usage.
• Monitor data security protocols and compliance with local data regulations (e.g., GDPR).
• Work closely with various departments to establish clear data ownership and accountability.
• Provide training and support to staff on data governance best practices.
• Maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.

Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Experience with data quality tools such as Microsoft Purview, and techniques for data cleansing and validation.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and business users.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
