Brief Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a key member of a delivery team, the Product Owner crosses boundaries between development and other business functions to ensure any solution meets key outcomes within the business and ensures priorities are communicated effectively to their delivery team. Additionally, you’ll work closely with our UX/UI team who have a track record of relentless customer representation.

You’ll be a part of a significant strategy to create and maintain Australia’s best web based digital platforms for quoting, selling and managing insurance policies. With a key focus being customer experience, the platforms allow our customers channel of choice without compromise of experience.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Engage and perform key Agile duties with your delivery team
  • Actively contribute to a Community of Practice to ensure alignment across the Product Owner role in the delivery process.
  • Work with internal and external customers to analyse their needs and align product features to strategic goals.
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team.
  • Solve product-related problems, make decisions and complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout all stages of the product delivery.
  • Assess value and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritised backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Champion a culture of risk and compliance across the division.
  • Maintain awareness, understanding and compliance with Company policies and procedures, including the on-time completion of mandatory training.

  • Assess value and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritised backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Represents the team in front of stakeholders and customers.
  • Works closely with senior management to support the roadmap creation and delivery.
  • Follow our competitors and the industry.
  • Identify and report potential risks or inadequate controls related to compliance or operational risks.
  • Champion a culture of risk and compliance across the division.
  • Maintain awareness, understanding and compliance with Company policies and procedures, including the on-time completion of mandatory training.

Essential

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner
  • Agile experience 2+ years
  • Experience with:
