Senior Android Developer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our fintech client in Melbourne on a contract basis. They have a strong brand in the market and a good pipeline of new projects coming through.

You will be building new features, rearchitecting some of the existing code bases, and taking ownership of key sections of their products.

In this role, you will:

• Contribute to the architecture of new and existing features of their multiple Android apps
• Work with product teams to help shape new initiatives
• Work collaboratively with other engineers in the team, as well as product and design
• Take ownership and responsibility for maintenance of product features

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of developing native Android applications
• Significant Kotlin and Android Studio experience
• Exposure to working with REST APIs
• Experience with Android UI themes, styles, and attributes
• Experience with SQLite or persistence technologies would be beneficial
• Proficiency with Git/Github
• Understanding of security best practices

Exceptional candidates will have:

• A keen eye for interaction design and finishing touches
• Strong ability to learn new technology and processes
• Competent in writing unit tests
• Experience with CI / CD
