We are seeking summer trainees to join our Aggregates digital team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing software for the digital solutions that make our machines and services easy to buy, operate and own. In this position, you will report to Jaakko Palokangas, Director, Digital Technology Development.
As a Summer Trainee – Software developer in Tampere, you will:
An exciting position in the digital technology development of Metso Aggregates customer segment. You will get a chance to work with the local digitalization and automation professionals, where your team will support your growth. You will have great opportunities to develop your expertise by learning how to develop software for premium heavy machinery and services. Our team of experienced software developers is in Lokomo, Tampere where we are closely collaborating with the other teams like automation, engineering, and assembly. We are always looking for ways to improve product and team performance in a measurable way and supporting team members, colleagues, and customers over individual performance. Many of our summer trainees continue their employment with us part-time, full-time, or with their thesis after the summer.
We offer benefits, such as healthcare, Epass Flex, Auntie mental well-being service, flexible working times, buddy support, learning opportunities, and networking and social activities in all our locations throughout the summer.
The expected monthly salary for our full-time trainee roles is between 2065-2875 euros per month. The exact monthly salary for each role is based on the candidate's number of completed academic credits and job location.
Our Summer Trainee positions are primarily targeted at students currently studying at, or recently graduated from, an educational institution in Finland, as well as Finnish students pursuing their studies abroad. Please note that we are unable to provide work permits or relocation services for these positions.

We are seeking summer trainees to join our Aggregates digital team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing software for the digital solutions that make our machines and services easy to buy, operate and own. As a Summer Trainee – Software developer in Tampere, you will:
- Develop embedded software for the automation system for mobile crushers
- Participate to the user experience design process as a technical expert
- We bring the industry knowledge, expertise from crushing, screening, and automation and tools used (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Miro)
- Background and studies in computer science and / or automation
- Experience in C++ and Qt. Knowledge of machine automation and field buses is considered as an advantage.
- Hands-on attitude and skills needed in prototyping and testing.
- Self-organized and capable of working autonomously.
- Communicative and collaborative enough
- Not being afraid of asking (and receiving) support from colleagues whenever needed.
