WordPress Developer

We are looking for a WordPress expert to join Greenstep to support our growth and internationalization! As a WordPress Developer, you will be involved in building Greenstep's websites and developing your own professional skills in a fast-growing company.🌞

Job Description

In this role, you will lead the migration of all our websites from Craft CMS to WordPress, while ensuring data integrity and functionality. You will collaborate with our entire marketing team to plan the migration process. In addition to the team, you will work closely with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and alignment with business objectives. After the migration, you will serve as our in-house WordPress expert and maintain our websites!

Your workday will consist of the following tasks:

• Developing and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Implementing necessary integrations with third-party services and APIs.
• Providing training and support to team members on WordPress functionalities.
• Monitoring website performance and security, implementing updates and fixes as needed.
• Staying updated on WordPress trends and best practices to continually improve our web presence.
  
  

Our marketing team consists of 14 members, and we work seamlessly through remote connections across the Nordic countries. Within the team, we are also divided into smaller groups, each with its own areas of responsibility. We meet in person as a whole team for team days once or twice a year! 💚

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in WordPress development, including theme and plugin development.
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, including custom post types, taxonomies and the WordPress REST API.
• Experience with popular page builders and frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Additional language skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues efficiently, both independently and within a team.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with version control systems for collaborative development, as well as knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing WordPress sites for performance.
