Senior Java Developer, Amsterdam

Assignment description

This assignment is within the Trade Platform Agile team which aims to improve the trade platform for our B2B business. You will work in an Agile team together with other IT professionals on the development of the Trade Platform.

Key competencies

 The ability to perform thorough analysis for effective problem-solving and informed decision-making.

 Demonstrates a keen understanding of functional changes and project objectives, emphasizing the ‘why’ behind each development effort.

 5+ years of professional development experience within the JVM

 Professional experience with Java/Spring

 Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/Azure is a plus

 A completed technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

 Fluent in Dutch and English

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Java programming language.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• Database management skills, with expertise in SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Version control using Git.
  
  

Development Tools

• Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, or NetBeans.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and profilers.
  
  

Web Development

• Understanding of web application architecture.
• Experience with server-side development using technologies like Spring MVC and Spring Web Flow.
• Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services.
  
  

Frameworks

• Proficiency in popular Java frameworks such as Spring Boot for building microservices or Java EE for enterprise applications.
  
  

Testing

• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  
  

Databases

• Experience working with relational databases.
• Understanding of database design and normalization.
  
  

Code Quality And Documentation

• Adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Ability to write clear and maintainable code.
