Embedded Software Engineer – Medical Sector (Near Ghent)

The company design and develop cutting-edge medical devices that transform patient care and healthcare delivery. They are looking for a talented engineer who can contribute to our mission of enhancing health outcomes through technology.
Your Role
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will:
- Develop Software: Design, implement, and maintain embedded software solutions for innovative medical devices, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with hardware engineers, product designers, and medical specialists to translate requirements into effective software solutions.
- Debug and Test: Conduct in-depth debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of software, using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and software debuggers.
- Document Processes: Maintain detailed documentation for all software development activities to ensure compliance and support future enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in C++, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
- Solid experience working with Embedded Linux, including kernel, device driver, and middleware development.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration and familiarity with communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, or CAN.
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller programming.

- Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
