Embedded Software Engineer – Medical Sector (Near Ghent)

Your Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will:

• Develop Software: Design, implement, and maintain embedded software solutions for innovative medical devices, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with hardware engineers, product designers, and medical specialists to translate requirements into effective software solutions.
• Debug and Test: Conduct in-depth debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of software, using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and software debuggers.
• Document Processes: Maintain detailed documentation for all software development activities to ensure compliance and support future enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:
• At least 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in C++, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid experience working with Embedded Linux, including kernel, device driver, and middleware development.
• Understanding of hardware-software integration and familiarity with communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, or CAN.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller programming.

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
