Vice President of Software Engineering

Our clients are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Software Engineering to join their dynamic Solutions Group. This newly created role will be pivotal in enhancing efficiency, scalability, and innovation within their technology solutions, delivering impactful, client-focused software. The VP will oversee a team of 50 talented engineers located across Europe, Asia, and LATAM, driving strategy, execution, and quality standards. This role requires relocation to Brussels, Belgium.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of 50 software engineers across Europe, Asia, and LATAM fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Establish clear goals, metrics, and performance standards to optimize team productivity.
• Mentor, recruit, and retain top engineering talent.

Strategic Direction

• Develop and execute the software engineering strategy aligned with business objectives to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including Product, Operations, and Client Success teams, to identify opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.

Technical Excellence

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure in-house solutions to support our clients.
• Drive the development of microservices architectures, SQL databases, and robust APIs using C#, C#.NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, recommending and implementing cutting-edge tools, frameworks, and practices.

Project Management

• Oversee end-to-end software delivery processes, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for various engineering initiatives.

Operational Efficiency

• Implement processes and workflows that improve efficiency, scalability, and collaboration across the team.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, focusing on long-term maintainability and user satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leadership in roles such as Director or VP of Engineering.
• Extensive expertise in Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET, SQL, and microservices.
• Experience building in-house solutions for client support and satisfaction.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, best practices, and DevOps principles.
• Demonstrated success in managing geographically distributed teams across Europe.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale projects with tight deadlines and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Experience in industries that emphasize client-facing or enterprise-level solutions.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
• Multilingual skills are a plus.
