For the next growth phase, we are looking for a skilled Senior Backend Developer to tackle our many scaling challenges. Someone who is passionate about cutting-edge technology, wants to make a positive impact on the industry, and loves simple, robust solutions for complicated requirements.

In your role, you work on the services underlying riskine’s Holistic Advice.

This API world (service) holds the full complexity of a person’s/family’s financial life. It covers topics like household budgets, a person’s risk appetite, potential risks from natural hazards, and their financial impact. The advisory questions to be tackled are endless, from income development and its impact on protection needs, to concrete saving goals and the best strategies to achieve them. And of course, these APIs prioritize the right insurance and saving & investment products for the advised person and provide feedback on the current protection and coverage gaps.

Tasks

Your role

Service Owners at riskine are Senior Software Developers taking responsibility for target picture, concepts, merges, releases and communication involving the services they own.

As Such, You

• Develop features, improvements and fixes in riskine’s API products for Holistic Advice.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Head of Architecture to create concepts. Concepts are either purely technical (addressing nonfunctional concerns) or solve business requirements.
• Shape the long-term target picture of the service architecture, while considering both future business requirements and scaling challenges.
• Manage merge reviews for your services, ensuring they meet quality and security standards and proactively guiding other developers.
• Lead the release process for your services from planning and rollout strategy to executing and managing them.
• Support efficient communication between Product Owner, Developers, Project Managers.
• Work with a state-of-the-art software stack, including Docker, Python, PostgreSQL, Flask, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Dapr, Traefik.
  
  

Requirements

Your profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a developer with a focus on Python, Java, Golang, or similar
• Experience with API-based web applications
• You have excellent communication skills and are a team player
• Experience in managing IT projects is a plus
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry is a plus
• Fluency in English; German language proficiency is a plus
