Backend Engineer - IoT Platform - up to 85k plus equity – Rotterdam / Hybrid

One of the most promising NL based scale-ups is hiring a talented backend engineer. My client is already winning tenders from established giga tech businesses (Software AG, Siemens) in the IoT space. And they pull this of with a team of 7 engineers! (17 FTE total headcount). I guess this illustrates that this small A team is engineering an insane advanced and customer centric IoT platform.

The CTO is looking for a backend engineer that is eager to take ownership and likes to wrap her/his head around complex software engineering challenges and ultimately translate them to easy to use APIs that users really want to use.

You are:

• Java, Spring Boot or Hibernate, RESTful API development and understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, like PostgreSQL, Cassandra, ClickHouse.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization tools like Docker & Kubernetes.
• Work with a wide range of technologies, own and solve problems end-to-end;
• Be actively involved in decision-making, both on a product and technical level;
• Bonus: Affinity with AI, ML, LLM’s; experience with distributed systems and/or event streaming (Kafka).
