We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for a Senior AI Designer to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.

About the Role:

• Design and prototype complex AI behaviors, including NPC decision-making, combat tactics, pathfinding, and emergent gameplay scenarios using Unreal Engine.
• Work closely with gameplay designers, level designers, and AI programmers to ensure seamless integration of AI systems into the game.
• Push the boundaries of AI in games by researching and implementing state-of-the-art techniques to enhance player immersion and engagement.
• Author and refine behavior trees, state machines, and other AI frameworks within Unreal Engine's toolset.
• Ensure AI systems perform efficiently on target platforms without compromising quality.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Regularly test and iterate on AI behaviors based on feedback and playtest results, ensuring a polished and balanced gameplay experience.

About You:

• 5+ years of experience in game design with a focus on AI systems, preferably in AAA game development.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine and its AI tools (Behavior Trees, Blackboard, Navigation Mesh, etc.).
• Strong scripting ability in Blueprint or C++.
• Deep understanding of gameplay systems, player psychology, and how AI contributes to the overall experience.
• Proven ability to design and balance complex AI behaviors and systems.
• Creative and analytical approach to overcoming technical and design challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• A strong passion for gaming and a deep interest in AI technologies and their applications in games.
