Job Title: Head of Data Engineering

Location: Zurich, Switzerland & Munich, Germany (Hybrid - On-site required once every two weeks)

About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead a dynamic team in rolling out the next version of their advanced data platform. This pivotal role will oversee a team of 12 Data Engineers and 4 Product Specialists, driving innovation and excellence in data infrastructure and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of 12 Data Engineers and 4 Product Specialists.
• Oversee the rollout of a new version of the client’s data platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business goals.
• Ensure best practices in data engineering, architecture, and operations.
• Drive the adoption of scalable, efficient, and high-performance data solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for data infrastructure.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience managing data engineering teams of 5 or more members.
• Strong background in data engineering technologies and architectures.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Palantir, Databricks, or equivalent setups.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex data projects on time and within scope.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
