Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Network Administrator / Help Desk Support professional with experience in Windows, Cisco systems, Microsoft products, and Active Directory to join our IT team at [Company Name], a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, network systems, and end-user technology needs, ensuring seamless operations across our pharmaceutical development and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration & Cisco Systems:

  • Administer and maintain Cisco network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring secure and efficient network performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including those related to LAN/WAN environments, VPN configurations, and Cisco routers and switches.
  • Implement and monitor network security protocols and perform regular system checks to ensure network security and compliance with internal standards.
  • Provide ongoing support for Cisco infrastructure, including firmware updates and configuration adjustments, ensuring network reliability and optimal performance.

Help Desk Support:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support, assisting end-users with Windows operating systems, Microsoft products, hardware, and network-related issues.
  • Provide prompt and professional troubleshooting support via phone, email, and in-person assistance for issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based operating systems and software applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • Assist with hardware setups, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for staff.

Active Directory & User Permissions:

  • Manage and administer Active Directory (AD) for user account creation, modification, and deletion, ensuring proper access control across the organization.
  • Configure and maintain user permissions and group policies, ensuring that employees have the appropriate access to network resources.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AD, including login issues, access restrictions, and permission inconsistencies.
  • Assist in the configuration and management of Group Policies to enforce security and user management policies.

Microsoft Product Support:

  • Provide support for Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, assisting users with configuration, troubleshooting, and advanced functionality.
  • Support Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments, including email configurations, permissions, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting Microsoft-based servers and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with internal IT policies.

System and Software Support:

  • Install and configure operating systems, software applications, and updates on both workstations and servers.
  • Ensure proper backup protocols are in place for critical systems, including Windows-based servers and network configurations.
  • Provide assistance with the integration of new hardware and software systems to support the pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D teams.

Security & Compliance:

  • Enforce network security protocols, ensuring that systems are protected against external and internal threats.
  • Assist with compliance and audit requirements, particularly those related to the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory standards such as FDA and GMP.
  • Regularly monitor systems for signs of security vulnerabilities, applying patches and updates as necessary to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Work closely with the IT team and cross-functional departments (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Control) to implement new technology solutions and optimize existing systems.
  • Participate in training users on best practices for using Windows systems, Microsoft products, and network resources effectively.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve system performance, streamline workflows, and enhance the end-user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in network administration, help desk support, or IT support roles.
  • Proven experience with Cisco network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019), Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry, preferably within a CDMO, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment, is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and permissions.
  • Expertise in supporting and configuring Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco systems, including configuring and maintaining network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with network security protocols, VPN configurations, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues.
  • Solid understanding of general IT hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and software troubleshooting.
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or similar are highly preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Occasional on-call availability for after-hours support when needed.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (e.g., servers, desktops, printers).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements such as FDA and GMP for the CDMO industry is a plus.
