Role Description

UST is looking for a Data Analyst to be based in Sydney, Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help migrate a huge set of complex data set from a legacy environment to a target cloud environment.
  • Design and manage the environment, which include data sources security and metadata.
  • Provide technical expertise on data storage structures data mining and data cleansing.
  • Support the data store in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalisation.
  • Assess tests and implement new or upgraded software. Assist with strategic decisions on new systems. Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Troubleshoot the database environment and associated reports.
  • Identify and recommend new ways to streamline business processes.
  • Organising data into usable formats.
  • Assessing data quality and cleaning data.
  • Team culture – contributing to a collaborative, agile, curious analytic team .
  • Establishing productivity systems and processes – providing input into processes and systems (e.g., DevOps and Git) to manage work and share code.
  • Innovative approaches – advocate for, and pioneer, novel approaches to delivering data migration.
  • Work with departmental managers to outline the specific data needs for each business process.
  • Create efficient and reusable SQL code meant for the improvement manipulation and analysis of data.
  • Create efficient and reusable code. Follows coding best practices.
  • Create reports depicting the trends and behaviours from analysed data.
  • Create documentation for worked performed. Additionally, perform peer reviews of documentation of others' work.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Data mapping, Data transformation and Data migration experience.
  • Database languages such as SQL.
  • Programming language such as R or Python.
  • Analytical tools and languages such as SAS & Mahout is an advantage.
  • Efficiently with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • DBMS.
