As a Data Scientist, you will have the exciting opportunity to work within a team on challenging projects across various industries, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and redefining user experiences. As a key member of the team, you will use your expertise to translate business requirements into data analysis and models, define suitable solutions, and present them to a wide range of audiences. We leverage various AI models across domains (including LLMs) to create a powerful yet intuitive user experience for our customers.

In addition, you will source data from a variety of diverse data sources, write high-quality data manipulation scripts, and develop and apply data mining and machine learning algorithms for advanced analysis and prediction. You will also utilize your strong communication skills to collaborate with developers and across teams to support product development and decision-makers who need empirical data to promote sales and growth. We will give you the chance to grow and take a lead in innovation for our groundbreaking data processing, AI, and visualization tools.



The team

Genetec's Intelligent Automation Team is a diverse group located in several countries, dedicated to creating collaborative tools for data- and AI-driven decision-making in the cloud. From the collection of requirements to the final product, our goal is to enable customers to harness insights from their security data, prioritize interventions, automate responses, and streamline operations.

As a Data Scientist, you will bring your passion for technology, development, quality, and automation to a team that shares your enthusiasm. You will play a key role in the evolution of our products, working in a highly collaborative environment where sharing knowledge and ideas is an ongoing endeavor.



What you'll do

  • Exploring client datasets and researching novel means for gaining insights. For example, by using text analysis, signal processing, or clustering methods.
  • Exploring if, and how, the latest advances in machines learning can be used to support analysts in public safety and crime prevention.
  • Developing proof of concepts and UI or data visualisation prototypes to demonstrate functionality and verify performance.
  • Identifying and proposing solutions to domain-specific problems that our customers face.



And it would be great if you could …

  • Take full ownership and lead features and smaller Data Science projects independently
  • Be a strong advocate of Data Science methodology, collaborating closely with software engineers, designers, and product managers to release revolutionary products.
  • Pair with our designers and engineers to ensure we deliver the best experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and quality assurance, to drive continuous improvement and ensure a high-quality product delivery.

What You’ll Bring

  • Solid programming skills from at least 3 years of minimum experience in at least one language
  • 3 years minimum experience in applying data analysis and modelling techniques to real-world data
  • English (at least B2)



Good to have

  • Experience in using machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and statistical concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, etc.).
  • Familiar with agile software development and knowledge of professional software development practices, tools for source control and project management
  • Experience working with cloud
  • Ability to learn new technologies and paradigms rapidly
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure
