We are representing a global leader in the Cryptocurrency Exchange in Search for a Head of Trading/portfolio manager

Position Overview

You will be responsible for executing market-making strategies, managing risk, and optimizing capital allocation across our altcoin options, perpetual contracts, and spot markets. This role requires deep expertise in both traditional finance (TradFi) and the crypto markets, with a focus on enhancing liquidity and profitability in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining tight spreads, improving market depth, and contributing to the overall success of the exchange's trading ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Making: Actively provide liquidity in altcoin options, perpetual contracts, and spot markets, ensuring competitive bids and offers and maintaining tight spreads.
• Portfolio Management: Manage a multi-asset portfolio that includes altcoin options, perps, and spot positions. Use quantitative methods to optimize trading strategies and ensure profitability.
• Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management frameworks for options positions, spot, and perps. Closely monitor risk exposures and adjust positions dynamically.
• Trade Execution: Execute large-volume trades efficiently and with precision, utilizing algorithmic and high-frequency trading strategies.
• Market Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze market conditions, trading volumes, and liquidity to anticipate market trends and capitalize on trading opportunities.
• Performance Reporting: Regularly report on portfolio performance, trading strategies, and market trends to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the tech and product teams to enhance the platform’s trading features, improve execution capabilities, and streamline liquidity provision.
• Strategy Development: Develop, test, and refine trading strategies for altcoin options, perps, and spot markets. Use both discretionary and systematic approaches.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all trading activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Track Record: Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager, Trader, or Market Maker in TradFi (traditional finance) or Crypto markets with a demonstrated history of profitability.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional trading experience, with at least 2-3 years spent in cryptocurrency markets (preferably options, perps, or spot).
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. A master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus.
• Market Expertise: Strong understanding of financial instruments, including options, futures, perpetual swaps, and spot trading, with a specific focus on altcoins and digital assets.
• Quantitative Skills: Proficiency in quantitative analysis, with the ability to apply mathematical models to pricing and risk management. Experience with trading algorithms and quantitative research is highly desirable.
• Risk Management: Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and the ability to identify, measure, and mitigate risk in fast-moving markets.
• Trading Platforms: Experience with major trading platforms and APIs, with the ability to operate and interface with trading bots, liquidity pools, and other algorithmic trading tools.
• Programming: Familiarity with coding (Python, R, or similar) for algorithmic trading and data analysis is a plus.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex strategies and risk metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience trading options.
• Experience working in a high-frequency trading (HFT) environment
• Understanding of blockchain technology and its application in trading and settlement.
• Previous experience with market-making in both centralized and decentralized exchanges.
