Description:

  • Responsible for conducting MAF studies in the assigned studies as a data scientist in alignment with IEGP (Integrated Evidence Generation Plan)
  • Contribute IEGP development to providing knowledge of data science and biostatistics
  • Responsible for leading process excellence in study data analysis activities
  • Analyze and identify opportunities and challenges for evidence generation, and propose new initiatives
  • Support to resolve difficult situation in-depth professional knowledge and experience. Serve as an advisor to others on complex matters.
  • Responsible for leading data science related activities involving other functions (IMAT, R&D, BU, Global/APAC MAF, Global Development) beyond Japan MAF
  • Responsible for improving the performance and motivation of members in the department

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent academic knowledge in science and engineering, such as medicine, pharmacy, science, engineering, information processing, computer science, mathematics
  • Work experience of 4 years and above as data scientist or/and biostatistician in pharmaceutical industry

Work experience in processing, and analyzing large-scale medical information databases in the medical industry, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices.

LIST JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Professional knowledge of programming language (Python or R) or analysis software (SAS, SPSS, etc.)
  • Interpersonal flexibility to effectively interact with a broad range of personnel in a cross-functional team environment
  • Future oriented and strategic thinking with attention to detail
  • Business level of Japanese and English communication
  • Well understanding of local regulations and practices in pharmaceutical industry

The role involves extensive interactions with :

  • MAF members (MAF-TA, MAO etc.)
  • Data science and Evidence generation related functions (IMAT, R&D, Epidemiology, MedTech, Vision Care, IT etc.)
  • MALT (MAF leadership team)
  • Global APAC Data science functions
  • External vendors (CRO, Database vendor, programing, new technology including AI, RPA)
