Digital technology is a well engrained and a key responsibility of the IS and Digital team and its continued growth and development is a fundamental requirement in providing a competitive digital landscape.

Working directly for the APAC IT Director and closely with Japan Leadership team, interpreting business strategic direction into a digital technology roadmap. The IT Director Japan will partner with regional and local technical & digital teams to help ensure a technologically accurate and secure delivery of digital initiatives. Collaborating within the Japan team to help align common standards, practices and governance activities resulting in optimized solution delivery.

The IT Director Japan will champion and be the technical lead for Digital and B2B channels providing insight and direction on the latest technology to guide the local business.

  • Recommend and direct in coherence with the overall Moët Hennessy Japan business strategy and global IT Strategy, the development of a relevant Digital, Information Systems and Technology strategy which supports the achievement of Japan business objectives
  • Provide leadership and coordination in implementing a strong Cybersecurity discipline in Japan in alignment with the APAC CISO.
  • Ensure that business processing systems across Japan are operated and maintained in a secure and effective manner.
  • Implement and roll-out applications supporting the Japan business in accordance with the overall Japan business strategy
  • Establish and develop an IS&T and Digital organization that has the capability and resource to support and deliver business solutions within Japan.
  • Form and host a MH Japan IT Steerco Regularly Updating and Aligning MH Japan to all aspect of IT in Japan Market. Developing centralized monitoring of often-heterogeneous digital technical initiatives, providing guidance on best practice and mapping digital capabilities to strategic priorities.

Job Responsibilities

Technology Communication & Governance (Stakeholder Relationships)

  • Work closely with Japan Marketing Director and Digital Marketing team to transform and Digitalize MH Japan.
  • Participate and contribute to the MH Japan digital community led by the Japan Marketing Director to help ensure consistency across region and globally. Update the Regional MH IT Director with
  • Work closely with Sales Organization to continue to digitize the sales to order process in Japan, this is a key focus to help Japan sustain and grow its business.
  • Work closely with Japan CFO to enable automation and digitization improvements are made to existing systems and look to challenge and offer alternatives to existing processes and procedures looking to implement relevant new technologies like RPA where appropriate.
  • We need to ensure that all MH Financial and supply chain systems are ready for the digital age and are capable of coping with new lines of business, work closely with CFO to ensure a road map is created to ensure we are ready.

Technology Strategy

  • Finalise the move from legacy Oracle reporting Database to standard MH technology being Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Power Suite
  • Map and ensure as much as possible, common solutions and answers to digital technology within the group, by leveraging regional/global initiatives converting them to local ones.
  • Guide the adoption of qualified technical digital solutions, for optimization, standardization and security consideration. Converting analogue business practices to digital using modern digital technologies.
  • Research and internally market digital solutions and technical platforms, not limited by domain or technology application.

Vendor and Resource Optimization

  • Help optimize the selection of the technical & digital vendor panel within Japan
  • When relevant, propose and request regional service resources to complement missing skills in the market.

Portfolio Strategy & Program Management

  • Advise & coordinate local IT teams on the management of IT projects to best utilize available expertise.
  • Develop and administer the digital project portfolio.
  • Ensure smooth interface between IT Teams and Business Digital Team.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for technical & digital process innovation.
  • Supervise the MH Japan IT capital budget: ensure alignment of projects with business priorities, solid justification (cost/benefit); control the planning and spending of the projects. Manage directly MH Japan capital budget.

Systems Maintenance & Risk Management

  • Responsible for application of LVMH IS&T policies and procedures in Japan, taking into account local particularities and requirements.
  • Make sure operational and maintenance procedures are properly documented
  • Assess IS&T related risks throughout MH Japan Systems. Check regularly, that disaster recovery plans exist and are reviewed periodically
  • Is directly responsible for MH Japan IT disaster recovery plan.
  • Ensure that all new applications developed internally are properly documented (source codes...).

Organizational Development

  • Work to define a Japan IT Organisation capable of growing with future Business needs
  • Animate a community of IS & Digital professionals in Japan, as appropriate direct, promote and identify mobility opportunities within Japan IT Team
  • Guide and coach the Japan IT teams. Ensure replacement and/or succession plans. Assist in building appropriate training plans to keep team skills relevant.

Profile

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Information Systems/Technology or related fields.
  • Master’s degree in information management, Information Systems, Technology, or Computer Science. Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP/PRINCE2, MCSE, etc.).
  • Solid project management experience across geographic regions.
  • Experience in digital, eCommerce, and CRM, with expertise in online technologies (web, mobile, social media, SaaS, IaaS, Cloud).
  • Familiarity with technical platforms, market solutions, and related industry trends.
  • Understanding of the wine and spirits distribution business model.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels in a multilingual, multinational environment.
  • Capability to simplify complex ideas into comprehensible concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide a dynamic, technology-driven team.
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken).
