Blacklock are looking for an HR specialist to join a PE firm in Washington DC.


About the Role - Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make a difference in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? You will help shape the company culture, support employee engagement, ensure compliance, and create a high-performing workplace. Responsibilities


Operations

  • Manage HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and compliance.
  • Administer HR systems (e.g., HRIS/Insperity), maintain accurate records, and produce headcount reports and organizational charts.
  • Handle HR documentation and data entry related to hiring, performance reviews, benefits, and employee transitions.
  • Lead onboarding sessions to integrate new hires effectively into the organization.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee annual benefits reporting and guide employees through the open enrolment process.
  • Develop job descriptions and assist with role levelling and compensation structures.


Employee Engagement

  • Establish and manage performance management systems to foster employee growth and satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary HR contact, addressing employee concerns and resolving workplace issues.
  • Support employees and managers with coaching and conduct exit interviews as needed.


Culture Building

  • Design and implement initiatives to strengthen their culture of Collaboration, Accountability, and Passion.
  • Lead change management projects and train employees on new policies and systems.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve HR processes and streamline administration.
  • Use workforce analytics to drive data-based decisions and enhance operational efficiencies.


Qualifications - 2–6 years of HR or People Operations experience, ideally within private equity or investment banking. Proficiency with HRIS systems and PEO environments. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Proven success in process improvement, documentation, and systems integration. Experience managing HR programs across the employee lifecycle. Strong analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
