Role: IT Security Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Contract duration: 12 months

Languages: Dutch/French (Native) and English

Job description:

Main tasks/responsibilities:

• Advising and supporting the selection and adaptation of security technologies (renewal of components within the current classified system)
• Ensure that customizations/updates are seamlessly and timely integrated into existing infrastructure
• Guarantee secure data flows and backups in the secure network
• Identifying and evaluating potential vulnerabilities, threats, and risks
• Prioritizing actionable tasks and proposing possible mitigation actions if a potential risk arises based on urgency and impact
• Documenting security measures and managing relevant policies and procedures

Technical Skills:

• Active Directory: Design and secure Microsoft Active Directory, including user management, group policies, and authentication protocols
• Switches and Network Equipment: In-depth knowledge and experience in configuring, optimizing and securing switches and other network hardware.
• Infrastructure: Good knowledge of network and system architectures and virtualization technologies for homologated systems.
• Backup Solutions: Knowledge of designing, implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity
• Firewalls: Fundamental knowledge of firewall technologies, vendor independent.
• VPN Technologies: Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Virtual Private Networks to ensure secure and encrypted connections for remote access and communications on classified networks
• Crypto Security principles: Working knowledge of cryptography and crypto encryption procedures
• Advice and validation: Advice and validation of the requirements specified by other bodies within the EU in the form of Statements of Compliance. Monitor and validate the correct implementation and usage described in the provided SecOPs documents.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in IT security, with similar demonstrable projects in the field of architecture and design.

Requirements:

• Be in possession of or have the ability to obtain accreditation at the level of Secret UE/EU Secret.
• Integrity and reliability: Have high ethical standards, be able to handle sensitive information confidentially and discreetly.
• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
