PHOTONICS ENGINEER

Alcyon Photonics team is growing. We are looking for a Photonics Engineer. The candidate will work on developing pilot projects in the field of integrated photonic circuits in collaboration with commercial partners.

Job Description

·       Photonics:

o  Contribute to the PICs and BB portfolio roadmap.

o  Design, modelling and simulating photonic components to grow the Alcyon Photonics portfolio.

·       Customer: Learn from customer’s needs to propose solutions based on the company’s portfolio and know-how

·       Project: Collaborate in the planning of R&D proposals and customer pilots

·       Team: Collaborate or lead technical team, depending on seniority and project

·       Interfacing: Foundry | Customer | Software

Requirements

·       2+ years of professional experience:

o  Design and simulation of photonic structures with commercial tools (Lumerical and/or Synopsis) for SOI or platforms.

o   Design of photonic circuits applied to sensors or optical communications within the framework of industrial or a European project with an end user.

·       Hands-on experience in mask layouts, DRC … for commercial foundries (including both passives and actives components, e.g., lasers, photo-detectors, optical amplifiers…)

·       Intermediate in programming (Python)

·       Professional English proficient

·       Skilled project management tools experience

·       Team ethos, problem solver and effective communicator
