Due to the extended need for our business, we are expanding our teams and looking for some extra power on the position of 💥Junior Java Developer💥 to develop high-quality software using agile techniques. Ultimately, you’ll implement and maintain Java components and frameworks throughout the software development life cycle. If you have a passion for programming in Java and are interested in agile methodologies, we’d like to meet you.

Work location:

• Galway, Ireland.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality software using agile techniques.
• Drive technology and software development best practices into the team.
• Work with the broader self-solve portal release train, release train engineer, product manager, architects, and the product owner to understand, estimate, and refine the product backlog.
• Participate in regular demonstrations of new work to the product owners and business stakeholders.

For this role, we value candidates who have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Good software engineering skills, design patterns, unit testing, refactoring, code structuring.
• Knowledge of building REST APIs and services.
• Understanding of Microservices.
• Familiarity with distributed asynchronous systems.
• Basic knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and efficient SQL querying.
• IT Administration skills on Windows or Linux.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; technical curiosity.
• Self-motivated, accountable, and having a sense of ownership; take pride in what you code.
• Ability to work as part of a globally distributed team.
