We are looking for a Digital Forensic Specialist for a freelance project in Luxembourg. The position is Part-Time (3 days p/week) and Hybrid over an initial duration of 12 Months, plus a likelihood of extensions.


Contractual Details

Location: Luxembourg (Onsite for the first 2 months)

Duration: 12 Months (plus a high likelihood of extensions)

B2B Freelance / Contract

5 Days Per Week / Full-Time


Languages: French Fluency + English

Your Mission

As a key contributor and member of the IT Security Team / Blue Team (Incident Response domain), you will provide organizational and technical expertise covering the various fields related to Digital (Cyber) Forensic while contributing to the definition, implementation, and execution of the Cyber Forensic Readiness project within the Cyber Resilience Program.


Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Security teams, technical teams, legal teams, and application owners to understand case requirements and ensure the effective definition, implementation, and execution of relevant Digital Forensic strategy based on organizational security objectives.
  • Analyse the organization's specific needs and work on relevant use cases and incident scenarios in terms of legal forensics.
  • Design adapted processes to integrate forensics into cybersecurity activities such as monitoring and incident response.
  • Propose procedures for the collection, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence.
  • Evaluate the tools/services available on the market and recommend/implement solutions adapted to the organization's needs and environment.
  • Provide training to involved stakeholders, including end users and L1 operators, to ensure the integrity of digital evidence.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including operational procedures and needed policies.
  • Challenge and validate the Forensic approach to implement the most appropriate tooling and processes to cover digital evidence preservation.
  • Test and validate the implementation of Forensic tooling and processes.
  • Participate in public RFPs, if defined in previous phases, to acquire tools, hardware, or services to support organizational needs in terms of legal forensics.
  • Communicate complex technical findings in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.


Your Profile

Mandatory:

  • Proven expertise and relevant experience in Digital (Cyber) Forensic tools and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as EnCase, FTK, Sleuth Kit.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Highly Desirable:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFP), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), or GIAC DFIR certifications.
