Lead Network Engineer

The current team is small; however, it is young, energetic with big ambitions. We are looking for a Lead Network Engineer to architect and implement complex network solutions and help the company in the scale-up phase.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and Implement: Design and implement complex network solutions—ranging from on-prem to cloud environments—while ensuring scalability, high availability, and security.
• Operational Excellence: Manage and maintain production networks and infrastructure. You understand the importance of operational disciplines like incident and change management, and you’ll be hands-on in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in network performance, monitoring, and reliability. You won’t just maintain existing systems—you’ll help us refine them.
• Knowledge Sharing & Documentation: Document architectures, configurations, best practices, and operational procedures. You recognize that well-structured documentation and knowledge sharing make the whole team stronger.
• Collaboration & Guidance: Work closely with colleagues to advise on and deliver OCP (Open Compute Project) IT solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior team members, and help guide our company’s technical strategy.
• Scaling the Business: Participate in shaping policies, processes, and best practices as our company grows. You’ll have a voice in how we evolve and mature as an organization.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

Technical Expertise:

• Strong background in designing and operating networks, including hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Excellent knowledge of protocols and technologies such as BGP, SD-WAN, and VXLAN/EVPN.
• Familiarity with IPv4/IPv6 addressing, IGP routing (OSPF), and network automation tools/frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Cumulus, SONiC NOS, JunOS, PanOS (Palo Alto NGFW).
• Knowledge of TACACS/RADIUS management.
• Essential knowledge of LAN switching and QoS; RDMAoE is a plus.
• Experience with network monitoring systems is key

• Excellent English language skills; Dutch is not required.
