Senior Network Architect

For one of the main energy clients based in the Netherlands we are looking for a Network Architect to carry out the architecture for connectivity solutions. It is important that you have worked within the cloud for this function.

| Responsibilities |

The Solution Architect works actively together with other architects to develop and maintain the roadmaps and other architecture products such as domain specific principles/standards.

• Write Solution Architectures and Target State Designs for Global Connectivity Solutions. You drive direction setting for global hybrid solutions across Internet, Cloud (Azure), SaaS and on-prem data centres
• You’re in the driving seat for Architecture Runways, yet you co-create them as thought leader together with the Infrastructure Platform- and Product Owners.
• Are the ‘goto-expert’ for Architecture and Design considerations for Connectivity.
• Review Solution Architectures as a gatekeeper to make sure it’s compliant with our target state direction going forward.
• Work with Product Management to develop new or enhance existing Connectivity Services. This includes participating in vendors discussions, planning and execution of PoCs, equipment evaluation, cost analysis, and road map discussions
• Understand that Connectivity is broader than network alone. You can find the right balance for topics like network, policy management, security and application integration.

| Requirements |

• Strong Conceptual and practical knowledge for Layer 3 and Layer 2 WAN+LAN networking standards and concepts.
• Strong Conceptual and practical knowledge with Azure with focus on networking elements.
• Strong knowledge of Security Concepts related to network based on Cisco, Cisco ACI and Cloud Technologies.
• Experience with design and interoperability of network overlays Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T, Calico (e.g., routing, firewalls, load balancers).
• Experience with scripting languages and Automation tools. Specific experience with Ansible is a plus.
• Conceptual and practical knowledge of Mainframe, Windows, Redhat Linux and VMWare.
• Strong documentation skills using MS Office, PowerPoint and Archimate (network diagrams, test plans/results, configuration guides, design documentation).
