Deputy Chief Technology Officer

We are looking for our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) that will be a disruptor to our current team as we continue our transformation journey. You will be responsible for developing and executing technology strategies that support our company business strategy and objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining technology operations in alignment with business expectations. The scope of the CTO organization includes Enabling Technology, Technology Operations and Architecture & Innovation.

• Enabling Technology includes shared platforms such as the GMF DevSecOps capabilities, leveraged cloud capabilities, API Management, as well as API strategy development (in collaboration with the GMF Architecture function) and implementation (in partnership with product teams).
• Technology Operations include service delivery management, end user enablement, and hosting strategy and execution.
• Architecture & Innovation includes architecture and standards governance, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, innovation / start-up capabilities, as well as delivery and development centers of excellence and communities of practice enablement.

Responsibilities:

• You have experience leading transformation and have led efforts to scale platforms globally, across multiple languages, to meet our expansion goals for the future.
• Ability to collaborate with other IT delivery channels/departments to deliver solutions effectively and efficiently.
• Have lean Agile Leadership experience and can develop cross-functional Agile teams
• Developed organizational capabilities, including the people, process, and technology, necessary to enable GM Financial’s near and long-term objectives.
• Defined and executed CTO sourcing model in alignment with overall IT sourcing strategy.
• Defined and maintained a comprehensive technology strategy that supports current and future business capabilities, enables stable operational performance, provides scalability, and improves delivery time to market, and supports cyber & privacy objectives.
• Ensure effective ITIL processes and ITSM practices are in place to achieve business objectives and SLAs.
• Ensure effective governance and reporting capabilities are in place throughout the CTO domain.
• Ensure CTO domain capabilities meet Enterprise Resiliency requirements.
• Ensure standards, patterns, and reference architectures are in place to improve operational stability and time to market; create / refine governance routines to ensure adoption and measure compliance.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of professional experience with at least 10 years in an executive or similar level capacity
• Proven track record in building and leading high performance global engineering and product teams of 100+ across a portfolio of products or product lines
• Previous experience in a heavily regulated, global environment
• Lead development and execution of a progressive, realistic IT strategy in support of company strategic growth plans
• Deep knowledge and experience in leading cloud-based and mobile application development in high-growth companies, site reliability, cybersecurity and information security, big data engineering and architecture
• Previous experience with acquisitions and system integration
• Exceptional cross-functional collaborator with an ability to bring people along with your vision
• Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
• Able to prepare/achieve a realistic annual operational and investment plan that supports business growth
