Java Developer

Seisma Group, supported by Australian-owned Superannuation funds, is experiencing continued growth and is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer. With over 550 employees across Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand, Seisma is poised for further expansion this year.

We are looking for a talented Java Developer/Engineer (microservices) to join our team of experts.

The Role

The ideal candidates will be working on current technologies provided through AWS to build developer tooling, application patterns, and CI/CD pipelines and will help deploy to multi-cloud by adding into Azure with Kubernetes in the future. A focus will be placed on your ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of programming languages such as javascript, typescript, etc. Experience with infrastructure tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, batect, and docker containers is highly regarded. Also required is hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, particularly with a focus on configuring a secure environment.

In addition to your strong technical capability, demonstration of ownership, and accountability, you will be a proven team player, and independent thinker and have a collaborative attitude towards your work and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement CI/CD workflows using established automation patterns and infrastructure as code tools.
• Be a go-to person for Developers and Service team members for troubleshooting and development support.
• Collect logs and metrics, build dashboards, and monitor using Splunk, AppDynamics and other tools.
• Automate using tools like Ansible, Terraform, batect, Python, Bash, and Packer.
• Design and maintain the Cloud environments for the service.
• Work in an agile environment, attending stand-ups, retros, planning, showcases and other agile meetings and ceremonies.
• Work closely with product owners, and engineering stakeholders to define platform requirements and priorities.

Experience and skills :

• Should possess a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Java Developer
• Strong DevOps experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines using a tech stack of Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, React, NodeJS, Typescript, Docker, Jenkins, batect, Terraform, Cloudformation
• Experience working with AWS and end-to-end Instructure-as-code-automation.
• Experience with microservices deployment and container technologies like Docker, ECS, EKS
• Environment performance monitoring and reporting.
• Any knowledge on Kubernetes and Azure is beneficial
• Jira/Confluence, MS Teams for workflow & collaboration
