Summer Job 2025: Platform DevOps Trainee

I'm Harri Kinnunen, Head of Analytics Platforms, and I'm looking for an enthusiastic person to join my team who is eager to expand her/his knowledge and skills on modern IT platform development and operations. As a Platform DevOps Trainee...

• you will work with the Telia’s internal team and our development partner to develop and operate Telia Finland’s on-premises analytics platform, Terra. Terra relies heavily on modern container and orchestration technologies, so a basic working knowledge of them is a must. As part of the team, you design, communicate and implement solutions to meet our internal customers’ needs and requirements. While the platform DevOps is the key focus area, your responsibilities can also include designing and implementing data flows in a more traditional Data Engineer role.
  
  

This position is temporary during the summer from April to August (1.4.2025-29.8.2025).

Who We're Looking For

In addition from the detailed tech skills listed below, we’re looking for a candidate who grasps new IT concepts quickly, formulates alternative solution approaches independently and communicates her/his thinking clearly. During the summer period there is limited peer support available, so ability to manage one’s own schedules and plans with bold attitude to problem-solving is a must.

Our tech stack is fairly straightforward, so prior experience in Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions will take you far. Additionally, knowledge of the S3 API, Spark and SQL are helpful, but not mandatory.
