In our global AutoChem business unit, we develop synthesis, sampling and reaction analysis tools for scientists in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. We provide scientists the data and insights in their chemistry they need to deliver life-changing products. Join an international and dynamic team at one of our global operational sites in Nänikon-Greifensee that is providing solutions to the forefront process research & development in the biopharma industry, as a User Experience Designer 100% (all genders).
We are building our next generation ecosystem of Software and connected Hardware from the ground up and this position will play a key role in that effort. Together with a group of international product managers, engineers, and our partners in the scientific and technical community spanning the globe, you will have a large influence of how scientists will interact with their chemical research to develop life changing products.
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
* You work directly with end-users and business partners to understand user workflow using well established analytical and empirical methods for context analysis
* You will provide leadership in establishing UX processes and applying them
* You will coordinate the UX and UI tasks in a team of UI and UX professionals (mix of internal and external professionals)
* You support the process of translating the findings into user requirements as well as into low-fidelity prototypes.
* You establish a consistent usability by following a user-centered design process. At the same time you maintain flexibility to address unique customer needs.
* You focus on applying and improving the customer-centric design process for interactive systems and make sure that the resulting artifacts fulfill the needs of both, requirements engineers and developers to build our products.
* You apply appropriate design validation methods, like usability testing to make sure the design fulfills the needs of our customers.
* You are eager to work in a cross-functional team together with product marketing, R&D, testing and other parties involved.
* You serve as a consulting resource for all usability and user interface design questions and challenges.
* You mentor others by sharing knowledge and understanding.
Following requirements are necessary for this role:
* You hold a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Business Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction or equivalent
* You have experience working in an agile and iterative way
* You have at least 5 years' experience in the field of user experience, preferably within an environment using both, hardware and software (experience with laboratory or medical equipment is a key advantage)
* You creation designed and evaluated both low-fidelity and high-fidelity designs for hardware systems integrating into overarching systems in a B2B and B2C environment. This includes aligning instrument UIs, mobile UIs and PC based UIs based on different personas, domains and use cases.
* You applied well known user-centered methods for context analysis and usability engineering lifecycle.
* You worked in an agile environment, capable of balancing sprint work with big picture work.
* Understanding of the pharma / medical industry a plus.
* You have excellent communication and team working skills.
* You have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Experience with Figma is a major plus.
* Experience with other User Experience Design tools is plus.
* You are willing and able to travel up to 10% globally.
