Project

We are looking for a Java Developer to join the ABRE (Accounting Balance Reporting Engine) team on behalf of our client. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic project that processes front-office data and transfers it to back-office systems to generate critical business reports.

ABRE acts as a middle office, processing and enriching data from sources like Kafka, gRPC, and direct database access. The infrastructure is evolving, transitioning to modern Big Data solutions. The current tech stack includes OracleDB, Apache Spark, and Cloudera Data Platform. The codebase is primarily in Java, with testing frameworks like Cucumber.

The team collaborates in a hybrid model, operating with Agile methodologies (SAFe) and leveraging tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo for CI/CD.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and enriching incoming data events
• Working with large-scale data solutions using Apache Spark and Cloudera Data Platform
• Developing Java-based applications with Spring Boot
• Managing and deploying infrastructure as code with Ansible
• Supporting data services hosted in Kubernetes
• Collaborating with international teams and business stakeholders to meet project goals

Expected competences and knowledge

• Java – minimum 2 years of experience
• Apache Spark – hands-on experience in Big Data processing
• Spring Boot – proficiency in developing and maintaining applications
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OracleDB and experience with database solutions
• Hands-on experience with Kafka for data communication
• Familiarity with Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Exposure to Cloudera Data Platform
