Job Role: CI/CD Engineer

Role Type: Contract Role

Job Description:

Reporting to the CICD/Developer Platforms Engineering Manager, will be expected to be a main contributor for implementation and detailed design of solutions, based on provided higher level design and architecture. Expectations and activities include:

- Initiating collaboration with other Lead engineers in CICD team, discussing issues and solutions that align with the team’s direction

- Conducting technical workshops/think-tanks

- Create detailed technical designs from requirements (e.g. how many pipelines, structure of templates, etc)

- Create Feature/User Stories in AzDo

- Run daily standups

- Create/review technical documentation

- Run training sessions/showcases of progress/solution to wider groups

- Train/guide more junior members of the team

background and must-have skills is:

- Excellent communication

- Application development – preferably middleware experience

- Infrastructure automation – experience building automation for infrastructure management

- Advanced level scripting with multiple languages, including Python, Powershell, Bash and CMD

- Advanced skill and experience with automating using Azure Devops – create complex pipelines with multiple templates, solid understanding of Azure Devops capability

- Comfortable working with MS SQL Server – comfortable writing T-SQL queries, know basic DBA operations, comfortable writing complex queries if required

- Experience building complex automation involving multiple systems

- Independent drive to deliver solutions through individual contribution and teamwork

- Experience leading a small team of engineers/developers

- Familiarity with Kanban/Agile methodologies

- Experience with data-related projects

Tech skills:

- Advanced Azure Devops – YAML pipelines, templating, on-prem Agent management

- Advanced Git – know the plumbing of Git to some degree, e.g. the difference between tags and branches, the difference between DVC and CVC.

- Advanced Python, Powershell, Bash, CMD scripting skills.

- Intermediate SQL skills
