Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Herstal, Belgium. As a world leader in precision-guided rocket systems for helicopters and jet aircraft, Your role will be in designing and developing cutting-edge embedded software for defense and aerospace applications, contributing to our ambitious production and product development roadmap.

🤖 Responsabilities and Requirements:

• Design software solutions based on system-level specifications and performance allocations.
• Write and maintain high/low-level software requirements with traceability tools.
• Develop C/C++ software for microprocessor architectures (bare metal or Linux RTOS).
• Address real-time constraints (communications, multi-threading, memory concurrency).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to create hardware abstraction layers.
• Use configuration management tools (GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Ensure high-quality code through coverage checks and unit testing.
• Debug low-level software using oscilloscopes and debugging tools.
• Work with V&V and DevOps teams on continuous integration systems.
• Document solutions to build reusable knowledge bases and participation in internal and external project reviews.

🛠️ Technical Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Software or Electronic Engineering.
• Around 6 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Expertise in C/C++ for real-time applications on embedded systems.
• Experience with microcontroller architectures and communication systems like CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet (TCP/IP), MIL-STD-1553/1760, and ARINC429.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written).

➕ Plus:

• Knowledge of FPGA development and VHDL programming.
• Experience in the aeronautical, defense, or automotive industries.
• Familiarity with standards like DO-178, ARP4754, or ISO26262.
• Passion for staying updated on the latest innovations.
