Network Architect

Role: Technology Architect - Intermediate

Location: Toronto, ON(Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months Contract With possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve and support the day-to-day operations of on-prem infrastructure including integration and upkeep with cloud vendors, networking, and optimization.
  • Create and conduct activities on networking front.
  • Support migration to new hardware and software stacks.
  • Support LCM maturity by assisting in refresh strategy.
  • Assist in process refinement, application performance improvements.
  • Refresh of legacy environments.
  • Assist FTE in complex client projects including design and build activities.
  • Assist with incidents for mission critical applications as required.
  • Guide integration team to enable networking and pipeline service.

Technology Experience - 20%

  • Extensive knowledge in deploying and managing core IT systems, including networks, firewalls, SDN and hypervisors.
  • Proficient in Networking and VMware with hands-on experience.
  • Building new infrastructure using automation based on design specifications.
  • Integrating services such as identity management, logging, and monitoring.
  • Generating reports as needed and facilitating skills and knowledge transfer.
  • Demonstrating leadership in managing projects and initiatives from start to finish, both technical and non-technical.
  • Handling intake and resolving incidents efficiently.

Technical Expertise - 20%

  • Facilitate integration and enablement across various industry platforms including VPNs, B2B and Business Connect.
  • Implement and improve enterprise services.
  • Proven hands-on experience with on-prem cloud environments, including VMware networking, automation, patching, and CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Extensive experience in networking design and implementation using SDN, tenants, and micro-segmentation with VMware and Cisco ACI.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of firewalls, L2/L3, and routing, with practical hands-on experience.

Service Delivery - 15%

  • Apply SRE expertise to create automation and self-service portals, improving service delivery and monitoring for legacy and on-premises network systems.
  • Develop and implement scripts to automate network configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
  • Enhance network reliability and performance through automated incident detection and resolution.
  • Integrate network monitoring tools with self-service portals to provide real-time insights and alerts.

Must Haves:
