I am currently seeking a Freelance Mobile & Web QA to join a dynamic, forward-thinking software company specialising in secure applications. This role focuses on automation testing for Apple platforms while requiring additional work across mobile, web, and desktop platforms. You’ll work within a collaborative QA team delivering high-quality software for clients globally.

Role: Automation QA Tester (Apple Ecosystem Focus)

Project Length: 6-month Freelance Contract (with potential extensions & option to convert to permanent)

Work Location: Hybrid with onsite options in Vilnius, Barcelona, or Skopje. Potential for majority-remote work.

Role Description

The company is seeking a detail-oriented QA Automation professional with a strong focus on Apple platforms, supported by experience across mobile, web, and desktop applications. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance the quality of client-facing applications through robust automation practices.

The role emphasizes integration testing and client-side API testing on native Apple platforms, including iOS and macOS, while contributing to the broader automation strategy for mobile and web platforms. Manual testing remains a key component, accounting for approximately half of the workload.

Focus Areas (estimates):

• 60% Mobile / 40% Web & Desktop
• 50% Automation / 50% Manual

Key Responsibilities:

• Apple Platform Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Apple tools such as Xcode and XCTest.
• Integration Testing: Testing client-side API interactions.
• Manual Testing: Supplement automation with targeted manual testing for critical areas.
• Test Management: Use tools like Testmo to manage test cases, record results, and track bugs.
• Collaborative Quality Assurance: Act as a QA service to development teams, ensuring consistent quality across deliverables.
• Unit Test Review: Review and run unit tests (unit tests are coded by developers). Improve test quality where possible.

Knowledge & Experience:

Technical Expertise:

• Experience working within Xcode and open to using XCTest for Apple platform testing.
• Proficiency in writing and executing automated tests for mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with integration and client-side API testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and Agile methodologies.

QA Skills:

• Solid background in automated and manual testing practices.
• Experience balancing manual and automated testing in real-world scenarios.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Programming Knowledge:

• Some understanding of Swift for iOS test automation (preferred).
• Additional programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for cross-platform testing.

Soft Skills:

• Independent and efficient work style with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify impactful test areas.
