FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Automation Engineer to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that can be based in Luxemburg, Germany, Ireland, or Poland.
As an Automation Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI & automation using Microsoft Power Platform solutions based on established patterns and best practices. You will be working with development teams as well as directly with customers and assisting in driving the adoption of cloud solutions using the Power Platform to provide technical advice to team members.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimise AI-based automation solutions across multiple domains (e.g., data processing, predictive analytics, robotic process automation)
- Develop algorithms, models, and frameworks to streamline business operations using AI technologies
- Build and deploy machine learning models to improve automation systems and decision-making processes
- Continuously monitor and refine automation processes for improved performance and accuracy
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define requirements for automation projects
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate complex AI and automation concepts clearly to non-technical teams
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure AI models and automation systems are functioning as intended
- Implement monitoring tools to track the performance and reliability of AI automation systems
Requirements
- Demonstrated 5+ years project experience developing Automation using the Power Platform
- Experience Configuring and using Microsoft Dataverse
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in delivery teams
- Demonstrable experience in configuring and deploying Power BI solutions
- Understanding of integrating Power Apps solutions with APIs or third-party solutions
- Experience with UX design
- Power Platform Certifications (PL-900, PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, PL-500)

- Microsoft Copilot
- Dynamics 365 applications
- Power Apps Test Studio or other Power Platform testing solutions
- Microsoft stack (.NET/C#/TypeScript/SQL Server)
- Microsoft Azure PaaS/Azure Integration Services
- Microsoft 365 platform including SharePoint, Forms, Teams
- Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for CI/CD and backlog/progress tracking
- Data stores (SQL/SharePoint/Lists)
