Your role and responsibilities

The ABB Process Automation Data and Analytics Department delivers essential data, analytical, and AI services to the Process Automation divisions. To expand our service portfolio, you will join us as a Data Science & AI Specialist, where you will be responsible for developing and implementing analytics strategies that align with business objectives and improve operational efficiency. You will take a key role in creating statistical models that transform large datasets into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making and optimizing outcomes through advanced AI and machine learning techniques. In this position, you will also support the migration of AI solutions across business divisions, while shaping and evolving cloud platforms by leveraging emerging technologies.

As part of your role, you will actively collaborate with AI development teams throughout the entire development cycle of AI solutions to ensure their alignment with business goals. You will be accountable for developing and implementing data models and algorithms to address complex business challenges and enhance decision-making processes. You will also take responsibility for facilitating the seamless integration and deployment of AI solutions by offering comprehensive technical support and expert guidance, ensuring smooth operationalization.

You will work closely with Process Automation divisions to ensure that organizational data is accurate, consistent, and reliable. Additionally, you will communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear reports and presentations, translating technical insights into actionable and understandable information. Staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies will be crucial as you drive innovation within data products and propose enhancements based on technological advancements. Your role will also involve coordinating and managing small AI projects across various divisions within the Process Automation landscape.


Qualifications For The Role

  • To excel in this role, you bring a strong educational foundation, with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field. You have at least three years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or AI roles, coupled with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Your expertise in machine learning algorithms and statistical methods is demonstrated by a proven track record of developing and deploying machine learning models in a business environment. You are adept at using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Celonis to communicate complex findings effectively.
  • Your technical skills include knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch and proficiency in cloud computing technologies, including Azure, GCP, AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • You excel at problem-solving, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in collaborative team environments. Additionally, you demonstrate resilience, self-control, and the ability to manage stress and pressure effectively, making you well-suited for this dynamic and innovative role.
