Senior Embedded SW Engineer – RISC / Embedded C

We are looking for a Senior Embedded SW Engineer to join a start-up developing ultra-efficient neuromorphic processors designed for low-power, fast pattern recognition, using SNNs.

They can offer hybrid working from their site in Delft.

As a Senior Embedded SW Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Design, implement, test, & maintain embedded software components, such as device drivers or similarly complex systems.
• Debug & resolve intricate issues in embedded systems, conducting root cause analyses using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, & hardware debuggers.
• Plan software development activities by breaking down tasks, estimating effort, & ensuring timely delivery with high-quality standards.
• Provide strategic input on development plans, identify risks, & address technical gaps early in the process.
• Champion best engineering practices while demonstrating technical expertise in your projects.
• Develop requirements for embedded software at varying levels of complexity.
• Create & maintain test programs & scripts for embedded systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during requirements gathering & design activities.
• Propose enhancements to development processes & strategies.

As a Senior Embedded SW Engineer your skills will include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar domain
• 3+ years of experience in embedded software development using C
• Familiarity with assembly language for RISC architectures, especially RISC-V
• Experience with Python programming & version control tools like Git & GitLab
• Hands-on experience in HIL testing for embedded targets & working with hardware debuggers.
• Proficiency with requirements management tools.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, & Neural Networks.
• Experience in mixed-signal integrated circuit development.
• Understanding of analog & digital electrical circuits.
