Position Summary
Metrea Simulations is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team focused on creating our simulated world. The role will focus on combining and leveraging geospatial/GIS data and machine learning to create datasets that will help in making our world as accurate, immersive and detailed as we can. You will work with challenging problems that will require you to work creatively all the way from making the best use of our data and identifying new data sources to developing ML models and tuning them. You will work in a small agile team closely with data engineers and developers on the simulation engine side.
This role will require you to be a team player who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment and expects you to be communicative and independent in your work. You should be motivated to find creative and scalable solutions for complex problems.

Role And Responsibilities
- Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models for applications such as clustering, segmentation and super resolution based on a wide range of geospatial data
- Develop quick proof of concepts for new ideas as well as writing code for production pipelines
- Handling and transforming geographic/GIS data at scale
- Advanced Python programming skills
- More than 2 years of experience working with Deep Learning (preferably computer vision)
- Experience of Tensorflow and/or PyTorch
- Worked with, or have an interest in, geographic/GIS data, for example satellite imagery
- Experience in C++
- Experience with Docker
- Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS or other)
