The opportunity

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the network is reliable, secure, and capable of supporting the organization’s operations and growth.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

Engineering Core42 DC network (DCN) including optimizing traffic patterns, deploying resiliency and highly available solution, optimizing deployment process, efficient utilization of hardware resources, cabling designs
Planning of network and network security optimization on monthly basis
Final tier of resolution for L2 support, communication with vendor’s technical support.
Providing L3 support through problem analysis as per defined SLA
Approval and creation of BOQ for network devices for the existing DC Network and cabling
Approval of configuration baseline templates for deployments as well as security hardening guides as per the best practice
Revision of Cloud expansions HLD/LLD in Core42 environment including network hardware and design
Design of WAN/LAN scalable network solutions including switches, routers, firewalls and network encryptors
Communication with WAN service providers to provide the optimal WAN architecture for Cloud or Client needs
Preparation and review of User Acceptance Test documents, assistance with complex tests (i. e. high availability tests between Cloud AZs)
Planning of complex change requests, maintenance windows and deployments which includes vital network traffic flows (i.e. WAN Block migration, ISP migration…)
Network automation through scripting languages.
Deep understanding of software defined network including commercial products and products such as OVS.
Verification of overlay network services and components using software defined network tools
Overlay traffic flow analysis and documentation in Core42 environment.
Attend internal and external to present Core42 solutions.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

Required Skills / Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering is an advantage.
Minimum 7 years of experience in IP network implementation and operations.
Experience in Cloud industry is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of L2/L3 connectivity concepts: Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6.
Strong knowledge and hands on experience with following tunneling & network virtualization technologies: VRF, VxLAN, GRE, MPLS etc.
Strong knowledge and hands on experience of complex network routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
Experience with overlay networks and network virtualization solutions.
Hands on experience with layer 7 network firewalls.
Hands on experience with Ethernet encryptors.
Experience in configuring and using different network management tools like Zabbix, Greylog etc.
Knowledge of Network Management Systems concepts and protocols such as NETCONF YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, JMS.
Good understanding of Software Defined Networking, SD-WAN, SDN Automation & Virtualized Network Functions is an advantage.
Hands on scripting and/or programming experience using Python is an advantage.
Experience using Linux operating systems – CentOS/RHEL is an advantage.
Team player, self-motivated, willing to learn, result oriented, willing to share knowledge.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office is an advantage.
Gcc Driving license is a plus.
