Responsibilities:

• We are seeking an individual to contribute to the expansion of our system in response to user demand.
• You will be working across various technologies (front-end, backend, edge computing), you will primarily handle our backend stack.
• Optimising databases as our customer base and deployed cameras grow rapidly.
• Recommending and implementing new database technologies as required.
• Designing and architecting backend APIs to ensure scalability and full observability.
• Maintaining the existing backend codebase and system with high uptime and availability.
• Delivering high-quality features, thorough testing, and effective issue debugging.
• Assisting the broader team in implementing various product features.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of industry experience with a track record of building systems of reasonable scale.
• Familiarity and experience with our main backend technologies: FastAPI, Python3, Docker, Postgres, Redis.
• Expertise in debugging, scaling, and optimising API + database solutions with growing traffic.
• Bonus if you have experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions (we use Pulumi over AWS), monitoring (we use Sentry and Grafana), and authentication (we use Auth0).
• Any experience with front-end (React), platform engineering (C++), or video streaming is a strong bonus but not mandatory.
• High intrinsic motivation to succeed and the ability to work diligently.
