Job Opportunity: Senior Golang Engineer (Remote, Canada)

We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Golang Engineer for a long-term contract position. This role offers 100% remote work flexibility, but candidates must be based within Canada to be eligible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to create and implement new features.
  • Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews, troubleshoot performance issues, and propose solutions to optimize system efficiency.
  • API Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, GRPC) with a focus on performance, scalability, and usability.
  • Security & Compliance: Enhance platform security and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Testing & Reliability: Develop and maintain unit tests and API tests to ensure robustness and resilience.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8 years in backend development, specializing in scalable and high-performance systems.
    • Advanced expertise in Go/Golang programming and strong knowledge of Kubernetes.
    • Hands-on experience with open-source databases, especially PostgreSQL.
    • Proficiency in API design and development (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, GRPC).
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerization tools like Docker.
    • Strong skills in database schema design, optimization, and query performance tuning.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Background in Payments, Blockchain, or related industries is a significant advantage.
